Gravity Burn Interview (Members Josh, Metal Mike, and Magda)

TAM: How did your band get involved with the Atlantis Music Conference?

Josh: Mark Willis, I think, spoke to our manager because he really liked the band. He’s been talking a lot about us and spreading the word, so we will gladly take it.

TAM: What do you expect to get out of this conference?

Josh: If we could get one fan, I would feel like we won something. If we can get two, then that would be even better. (laughing). We just like to play and hopefully people in the room can dig it.

TAM: How would you describe your band to people that haven’t heard you yet?

Metal Mike:Hard rock with metal edge, metal overtones, a girl singer. Very focused on melody. It’s just something that you have to hear.
Magda- We are a kickass band, heavy, with beautiful melodies. Someone also says that we have a really hotlead singer with a great range.(talking about Nina, the manager).

TAM: After this show, what is coming up next for your band?

Metal Mike: We are going to be shooting a video at The Local on October 4th, so we are really looking forward to that. The whole show will be videotaped. We have a producer by the name of Neil Citron, Steve Vai’s producer, and he will be playing three songs with us.

TAM: Do you have any advice for bands just getting started?

Josh: Oh man. Get out now! (laughter). Focus on the music you like. If you love it, somebody else will. Don’t try to chase what you think everyone is going to want. You got to love it. If you don’t this business, you are going to end up really hating it.
Metal Mike: It’s tough. Don’t compromise with the people you play with. If you’re serious about it, stick to your guns and don’t compromise.
Magda- If you have anything to sacrifice, just do it for the band and music that you are writing. That’s what I did and I do not regret it at one moment.

TAM: Anything else that you would like to say to the fans reading this?

Metal Mike: Buy our record that came out in March entitled “Weight and Sea.” It’s a worldwide release so you should be able to find it in your local record stores. It was recorded at Virtuo Sound Studio in Kennesaw. Thanks to Fast Forward Management, for all their help.

TAM: What’s one thing about you that no one knows, that may surprise them?

Metal Mike: I’m in the Witness Protection Program (laughing). Never been asked that before, I don’t know!
Josh: We are nice people, and we bathe regularly. Magda- I curse a lot. I got this new job, and they didn’t suspect that, and they called me a potty mouth.
