Oblivious Signal: Into The Night
Celebrate Independence Day 2010 with a sunday of double-bass drumming from the newest addition to Oblivious Signal, drummer Dam Hammler,
and the tight guitar work of Nick Orisino topped with the cherry that is Christina T. Feliciano's voice. With vocal styling which crosses genres from
hardcore death metal to high-range pop melodies, Feliciano adds a quality of sincerity and passion to the lyrics telling stories. Oblivious Signal's
move away from the screaming vocals on the debut releases proves smart because these lyrics aren't typical rock cliches about war and death; these
songs provide concrete connections to issues in life. Songs like “The Quiet Voice of Failure” and “Inflicted Shame” remind listeners hard-driving rock
should be the sort of music within which fans find catharsis. Lyrics opening the follow-up release to Oblivious Signal's 2008 debut cry out, “Drink
away the sorrows inside” and continue into the chorus, “for your actions you will suffer the inflicted shame.” The guitar riff tempers the double-bass
drumming and allow the vocals to soar. The title track, “Into the Night” also begins with a melodically tight guitar riff and bursts into the echoed
vocals of Feliciano. She ties this band together with her range and genuine attitude. Oblivious Signal deserve respect with the July 5 release of the
limited edition Into The Night. Pay attention now because come fall 2010 Oblivious Signal releases a new full-length release which is already in
production! Fans near the New Orleans area can catch Oblivious Signal at the Cutting Edge Music Festival Showcase August 25th-29th, 2010. Check them
