In these modern times of garage bands and MySpace music websites, creating a professional press kit is essential to making a name for your band. To be taken seriously by booking agents, media professionals and radio stations a band or artist should have a press kit containing professional photographs of band members, live shots, press reviews, audio tracks and set list requirements.

Anyone can forward a MySpace link to try to book a gig, but having an electronic press kit is much more effective in conveying professionalism.

This contest is designed by Target Audience Magazine to inspire independent musicians and bands to get an electronic press kit with SonicBids.com so our readers can vote for the band/artist most likely to succeed (and therefore benefit from the photo shoot prize). This is guaranteed promotion and exposure for your band even if you don't win!

All genres are accepted.

The winner will be decided in January, the photo shoot will take place in February (scheduled between photographers and band) and announced in Spring 2010 issue (March 21, 2010)

Photo shoot includes up to 4 hours and 2 locations in the Metro Atlanta area. Live shots may be included. The winning band will receive a digital copy of the best 10-12 images (in both large and small format for press kits or album artwork) Copyright for these images will be shared between the winning band/artist and Cohen Photographic Art. Estimated value of this prize is $700.00

This contest is designed for any band or independent artist to win (by reader/fan vote) a professional photo shoot by Cohen Photographic Art. The owners of Cohen Photographic Art will not photograph any band wearing "offensive apparel".

This is to be, ultimately, decided by Cohen Photographic Art, but includes any apparel associated with racism, against organized religion (don't push it by wearing a shirt against Satanism) or generally in bad taste.

Target Audience Magazine promotes any independent artist and doesn't really care what you believe, but we and Cohen Photographic Art do not want the winning band associated with bad stuff. Use your best judgment as to what the photographers will consider "offensive".

If you want clarification, just ask :)
