MEGADETH: ENDGAME Review

"I learned my lessons the hard way, every scar I earned I had to bleed"

Megadeth’s Endgame is by far the best album since Countdown to Extinction. New guitarist Chris Broderick’s amazing with his extremely fast yet incredibly clean solos. Dave Mustaine has proven he’s recovered from his compressed radial nerve with some of his best soloing to date.

Dialectic Chaos brings you back into the lungs of hell for a welcomed breath tapping on your insides. On “This Day We Fight”, Megadeth proves that killing truly is their business with a classic 16th-note drive mixed with some legato work.

The dynamics of “44 Minutes” will be absolutley brutal at a live show! “1,320” is reminiscent of classic Megadeth tunes like “502”, “Liar”, and “Chosen Ones”. In the song, “Bite the Hand”, a crunching power chord stomp gives way to a headbanging verse section leaving those who can’t resist a little sore. The song “Bodies” talks about not giving up even if those who you called a friend at one time have let you down. The title track ,“Endgame” , tells of a possible future. In this new world order everyone has to have a “Chip” or report to a camp.

The song, “The Hardest Part of Letting Go”, is two songs in one with the song “Sealed With a Kiss” in the middle. “Head Crusher’s” memorable opening riff will be played by many upcoming deth heads and their guitar teachers. “How the Story Ends” contains one of the most head breaking, and bone-crushing bridges in existence.

The song “Right to go Insane” is about something a lot people can relate to now a days in the current economy. In the chorus, Dave sings, “I have nothing left to lose but my mind”. There are a lot people who would agree.

Endgame is an album filled to the breaking point with classic Megadeth riff’s and groove. Upon first glance, listeners will feel like they just inhaled after years of holding their breath waiting for something worthy to listen too. After the second listen through, listeners will like a 'fish on a hook'. Endgame is a must have for any metal fan.
