My Only Scenery Review 2010

If you take metal, play it with some a grunge tone, and add some highly emotional vocals you will get France's My Only Scenery. Yoan Antignac's vocals change dynamically, changing the colors, in each song. At times, he will be screaming and in the same phrase, he will slip into a falsetto range. Music wise you can hear elements of Metallica, Korn, Deftones, and My Chemical Romance.

The song “Universe" will keep you guessing where they're going next with each direction change. During the first verse, the guitars split their rhythmic duties with one playing chords and the other playing a melody that fits perfectly with the singing. At first, the song starts of like a Pearl Jam tune then a bended note takes you headfirst into a nest of tri-tones and smiles.

“Me and My Ghost" sounds like a sonata built for the unknowing damned. Some may think that it's about a multiple personality disorder. Then, after lines like “I accept my skin, my story and my sins" it seems like a story of someone trying to except their self.

“Far From My Eyes" starts off sounding like a dark ballad then, after a few broken promises, once again they attempt an aural decapitation with the chorus screaming “Break Me Now"
